1934

Founded in 1934, after the repeal of Prohibition, Alaska Distributors Co. began distributing beverages to the state of Alaska from its facilities in Seattle, Washington.

1958

In 1958, Alaska Distributors was purchased by the Shulman/Loeb family, who retain ownership to this date.

1970

Groundbreaking and construction of our Seattle office and warehouse begins with 66,000 square feet of warehouse space.

1986

In 1986, Alaska Distributors formed Western Washington Beverage, (name changed to Alaska Distributors Co.-Seattle as of March 2004), a beer and wine wholesale house serving King and Pierce counties in Washington state, and formed Spirits West, a Control States spirits brokerage representing spirits brands in the states of Washington and Oregon.

1989

In 1989, Western Washington Beverage (name changed to Alaska Distributors Co.-Bremerton as of March 2004) expanded to Kitsap County (Bremerton), Washington.

1992

Moved to 4201 6th Avenue South after construction of 278,000
square feet of warehouse space and 27,000 square feet of office space.

1998

In 1998, Spirits West, began representing spirits brands in the state of Idaho.

2003

In 2003, Spirits West (and the Great Northern Beverage division) began brokering spirits in Montana, Utah and Wyoming.

2004

Alaska Distributors is one of the 35th largest privately held companies located in Washington state employing over 600 workers. Over 7,500 customers in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah & Wyoming.

2006

The new facility, 440,000-square-foot building at Pacific Gateway Business Park in Kent, houses about 500 employees of one of the state's largest private companies. The building includes more than 50,000 square feet of office space, parking for more than 400 vehicles and 150 trucks, and nearly double the warehouse space of the original south Seattle location.
